House on the rock: what is our life built on?

 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

The Lord summarizes, in what we call the sermon on the mount, most of his teachings.

• the maturing of the beatitudes
• the purpose of his believers in the earth
• his fulfilling of law to make us be right instead of doing right
• the necessity of agape love living through us to be sons of our Father
• the importance of knowing how to trustl Him in our heart before we can help others
• the need of him being the motive in prayer and good works and fasting
• the assurance of provision of God as we seek his righteousness, the declaration of Jesus as the only way to life
• A warning to beware of false preachers and the devastating effects of living their false way

with a conclusion of these being foundation for a man's house.

The house of which Jesus speaks is not made of sticks and stones but of flesh and bones.

That life built on what he has given in this sermon is on a solid, unchanging, and everlasting foundation. This is God's way.

A "life" based on any other way is a individual, shifting, and temporal foundation. This is man's way

Jesus assertion that both will suffer storms and violence is contrary to the idea held by some. The belief that with proper faith storms do not come.

Though both houses go through the same storms one endures while the other is destroyed.

 23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
 24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
 25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
 26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
 27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.
