How does God provide for us?

*[[Mat 6:19-24]] KJV*
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

In the rest of the sixth chapter of Matthew Jesus has set the foundational pieces of trusting in the Fathers Providence.
The word treasure in its definition is not a item as much as it is a storehouse.
When a need arises where do we look for providence; is it in the temporary; things, powers, abilities and knowledge, of this passing earthly place or do we look to that which is eternal and unchanging.
The providence of the earthly storehouse sets up the self; ensuring that the self has all it needs.
The heavenly storehouse distributes to the receiver that providence may be distributed to others; in this way the receiver is provided for though the self is never the focus.
The eye being single speaks of generosity toward others. In the same way an evil eye is focused on the self and its lust.
If we take that which has been given to us from God and spend it on self; we are now in the state of trying to serve two masters.
Our Lord warns us no man can do this.
Consider our Lords own temptations in the wilderness; where they not about
 self need(bread),
self recognition(throw yourself off temple and when angles bear you up all will know you are messiah),
and self fulfillment(you come to save the world, I will give it all to you to do with as you see fit)?

A note on the word mammon; commonly we insert the word money there, but mammon is a confidence in riches not just seeking to obtain them.
Jesus goes on to explain that the humblest animals and lowliest plants are greatly provided for by our heavenly Father.
How much more will he provide for his children?
The conclusion of these things is; the orphans of the gentiles seek these things as they have only themselves as a provider.
The sons of the family of God know their Father provides every need; so we seek and trust only to be made as our Father.
